The Efficiency of the Booty Market
So a Craigslist ad puported from a “spectacularly beautiful” young woman looking to meet a man with an income over $500K has been making the rounds this morning.
Okay, I’m tired of beating around the bush. I’m a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I’m articulate and classy. I’m not from New York. I’m looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year.
Important tip: using the word “classy” is a reliable indicator of a white trash background.
Amusingly many people seem to find a response written by some ibanker to be more offensive than the original ad.
So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you’re 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you!
Best quote from the Dealbreaker comments:
I tell you guys, I kinda liked the girl. She was straightforward, she is well aware of her assets (and limitations), and she is looking for a “let’s cut to the chase” negotiation. Now that’s a rare thing. Most of her colleagues will bore you to death with stories about teaching first grade kids, saving the rainforest and so on. So if she really is what she claims to be, she might be an undiscovered asset (the booty market has not been proven to be efficient).
